"Who am I without my company?” That’s the question Louisville native Taylor Trusty asked himself after he sold Blackstone Media to a Boston firm two years ago. At Venture Connectors' July virtual lunch, Taylor shared his entrepreneurial journey — which included a move to New York City — his loss of identity and world travels after he sold his firm, and what he learned along the way.

Taylor is an entrepreneur, speaker and strategist who’s passionate about business and technology. He is co-founder of Signal Insights, founder of Trusty Index and board member of Entrepreneurs' Organization NYC.Taylor has started several companies, most notably Blackstone Media — a 20-person digital creative and marketing agency he built over 12 years that helped brands such as Toyota Material Handling, Sonoma-Cutrer and Mercer grow their businesses online. In 2018, he sold Blackstone to Boston-based ADK Group.

Taylor was named an Emerging Entrepreneur into the Kentucky Entrepreneur Hall of Fame and selected as one of the Hot Dozen by the American Advertising Federation. Louisville Business First recognized him as one of 20 People to Know in Technology.

He has spoken to over 100 groups about entrepreneurship, digital marketing and usability, including the Estonian E-Commerce Association, Techstars, American Advertising Federation, Vistage and World Trade Center Kentucky.
