Uic Collective Bargaining Agreements

On October 1, Paul Pater, INA`s chief co-steward at UI Health, announced that a super-majority of nurses had voted to approve the contract, which guarantees safe limits for patients. The organization of work at UIC and UI Health had been made particularly difficult by the university: the UIC had deceived state workers to cross the SEIU picket line, while UI Health had obtained a temporary injunction against the INA, which prevented some intensive care nurses from participating in the strike. Despite the university`s efforts to undermine the movement, SEIU Local 73 and inA left the pickets victorious after successfully demonstrating their bargaining power. All four agreements include extensive language on equal pay and inequality. . . .
